Why the machine is not the whole purchaseWhat each component decides, and the gap in each category
A laser is not one purchase. Cutting produces smoke that has to leave the room, an open-frame machine puts visible laser light at the height of your face, and anything curved needs a rotary before the artwork will sit straight on it. Laser Oracle tracks 23 live Amazon listings across these five categories and measures each against the specification that actually decides its purchase, using Amazon Product Advertising API data refreshed every three hours. The result is consistent across every category: 1 of 8 fiber laser engravers listings state rotary included or sold separately; 1 of 7 diode laser engravers listings state air assist; 0 of 6 beds and tooling listings state cell size; 4 of 9 co2 laser cutters listings state cooling: integrated or separate chiller. In other words, the figure a buyer needs is usually the figure the listing selling it leaves out. Three of them are concrete: safety glasses are rated for a wavelength, and a pair rated for the wrong one offers no protection while looking identical to a pair that does; an extractor's duct diameter decides whether it connects to the machine you own; and a rotary is built for specific models, which is why it is the accessory people most often buy twice. Every count is measured when the page is built, never typed in. Laser Oracle does not test machines, and many of the brands leading these categories publish no specification documents to cite, which is why these pages measure listings instead.

Before you buy any of it
The bench decides more of this than the budget does.
Check the bench first
Where the duct goes and whether the wall has 240V rule out more machines than price does, and they are the constraints buyers discover last.
What five years costs
The machine is the first payment. Tubes, filters and optics are the ones nobody adds up.
Compare the machines
Fiber, CO2, diode and UV in one table. The source decides what you can make; the wattage only decides how fast.
