What Laser Oracle counted hereThe figures above, in full, with what they do and do not prove

Laser Oracle tracks six optics and safety on Amazon and measures every listing against the specifications that actually decide the purchase. Of the six we currently hold, two state optical density and four do not. That gap is the finding. These are not obscure figures: they are the ones a buyer needs before choosing, and they are missing from the listing that is doing the selling. Prices and category rankings come from the Amazon Product Advertising API and are refreshed every three hours, so no figure here is more than 24 hours old; all six carry a live price at the moment this page was built. A listing that omits a specification has not told us the product lacks it.

“Stated in the listing” means the seller printed the figure somewhere in the title or the bullets. It is not a verification, and “not published” is a fact about the listing rather than about the product.

How many optics and safety listings state each specification
SpecificationListings stating itWhy it decides the purchase
Rated wavelength4 of 6No rated wavelength — this is not laser eyewear🔴 THE ONE PURCHASE WHERE THE RATING IS THE PRODUCT. Safety glasses are filters tuned to a wavelength range, so a pair for a CO2 machine and a pair for a fiber machine block different light and are not interchangeable. Tinted eyewear with no stated wavelength is sunglasses, whatever it is sold beside.
Optical density2 of 6No optical density statedOptical density is how much of the rated wavelength the filter removes, on a logarithmic scale. It only means anything paired with the wavelength it applies to: a high density at the wrong wavelength is protection against light your machine does not emit.
Certification2 of 6No certification statedA stated standard is a claim someone else can check. It is not a guarantee the product was tested, but its absence means there is nothing to check at all.

A count of what the listing says is not a count of what the product does. A seller who omits a figure has told us nothing about the product, only about the listing, and these rows are worded that way on purpose.

How these figures were producedSources, refresh cadence, and what we do not claim

Nothing on this page is a review. Laser Oracle does not test machines and does not claim to, and the brands that dominate this category publish no specification documents to cite either, so the listing doing the selling is the only thing there is to measure. Every claim quoted on this page is the seller's own wording, and the counts are our measurement of those listings rather than of the products themselves. Prices and category rankings are read from the Amazon Product Advertising API and refreshed every three hours. Listing wording is read on the date shown on each product page, and every count is taken again whenever the catalogue changes.

Questions people ask

Do laser safety glasses work for any laser?
No. They are filters tuned to a wavelength range, so glasses for a CO2 machine and glasses for a fiber machine block different light and are not interchangeable. Tinted eyewear with no stated wavelength and no optical density figure is sunglasses, whatever the listing photograph shows it next to.
What is optical density?
It is how much of the rated wavelength the filter removes, on a logarithmic scale, so each whole number is another factor of ten. The figure only means anything paired with the wavelength it applies to — a high density at the wrong wavelength is protection against light your machine does not emit.
When does a lens need replacing rather than cleaning?
Cleaning fixes residue; replacement is for damage. Once the coating is pitted or the surface is etched, the lens absorbs energy instead of passing it, which shows up as power that has quietly dropped and a lens that gets hot. A cut that has needed an extra pass for weeks is usually optics rather than the tube.
