Of the 13 we currently hold, nine state supply voltage and phase and four do not. That gap is the finding. These are not obscure figures: they are the ones a buyer needs before choosing, and they are missing from the listing that is doing the selling. Prices and category rankings come from the Amazon Product Advertising API and are refreshed every three hours, so no figure here is more than 24 hours old; all 13 carry a live price at the moment this page was built. A listing that omits a specification has not told us the product lacks it.

How much does a laser cleaning machine cost?
The machines Amazon stocks run $5,399 to $20,599 today, re-read every three hours. Power and source type set the price far more than brand does: a 300W pulsed machine costs more than a 2000W continuous one, because pulsing is what lets it clean without marking the metal underneath. Add a 220V circuit, extraction and rated eye protection to whatever the machine costs.
Do laser cleaning machines really work?
Laser cleaning is established industrial practice and has been for decades; the machines here are that process at a price a small shop can reach. Laser Oracle has not run any of them and does not claim to. What is worth knowing before buying is that the makers publish very little: of the machines on this page, only Triumph publishes a specification sheet we have been able to read, and the rest are white-label listings whose seller wrote the only description that exists.
What are the disadvantages of laser cleaning?
Four, and no listing on Amazon states any of them. The machine is 220V and heavy, so it is portable in the sense that the gun is handheld and not in the sense that you carry it upstairs: Triumph puts its continuous machine at 170kg with an industrial chiller. It is slow on large areas compared with blasting, and the scanning width is what decides that rather than the wattage. It removes the coating as airborne particulate, so old paint may put lead into the air and extraction is not optional. And a continuous source at high power will discolour or warp thin material, which is what the pulsed machines cost more to avoid.
How does a laser remove rust?
The rust absorbs the beam far more readily than the metal beneath it, so the oxide layer heats, breaks its bond and blows off as dust while the steel stays where it is. That difference in absorption is the whole mechanism, and it is why the process cleans without abrasive, chemicals or a blast cabinet to contain them.
Pulsed or continuous: which one do I need?
A continuous source clears an area faster and puts heat into whatever sits under the layer being removed, which is fine on thick structural steel and wrong on thin sheet, plated parts or anything you intend to keep the surface of. A pulsed source delivers the same energy in very short bursts, so the layer lifts before the substrate warms. That is why a 300W pulsed machine costs more than a 2000W continuous one, and why the wattage on its own tells you very little.
Will it damage the metal underneath?
A correctly set pulsed machine should not, and that is the property the process is bought for. A continuous machine at high power on thin material will discolour it, warp it or strip plating, and no setting makes that entirely go away. The honest way to choose is by the thinnest and most delicate thing you intend to point it at rather than by the worst-rusted.
Can you plug one into a normal outlet?
Not a general-purpose US outlet. These are 220V tools and the larger ones want three phase. The electrician fitting a dedicated circuit is part of the purchase price, and it is the step most likely to delay a machine that has already been delivered.
What does the extracted rust do?
It becomes airborne particulate, and on a painted or plated surface it can carry whatever was in the coating. Extraction is not optional the way it sometimes is on a small engraver, and old paint in particular may contain lead. Check what you are removing before deciding what filtration the job needs.
